Aboard Albatross Fishing Charters.

There are  all kinds of fishing stories that range from our inland lakes to our great lakes. People seem to share them on a daily base somewhere across this great nation. Here is another one for you that I would like to share. This one is on our great lakes.  Lake Michigan to be precise.

I had a show to do.  An Outdoor Wild episode.  I was in need of a charter boat service out of Kenosha Wisconsin. I was working on a show with a man that had M.S.  The idea of the show was to promote outdoor conservation to people that were less fortunate then myself. Something that required fresh air ,sunlight ,action and fun all rolled into one. That would make for a good show.  My perfect plan. A charter-fishing boat. So I made a call. I called a fishing charter service by the name of Albatross fishing charters. I got lucky and connected with Captain charter-fishing Bruns.  He agreed to take us out to tape the show. charter-fishing

It was a later part of the season, when the charter boat season was slowing up a bit because the salmon run was on to make their way upstream.  That made no difference to Captain Ken. He had his mind made up  to make this a day of action. Also joining me were  my sons Matt and Kyle to help promote take a kid fishing at the same time. That would make for a great show. Promoting conservation education. The mans first name with (M.S.) was Mike.   He shared some of his stories with us about M.S. and educated us on this tragic disease. It was sad to hear but he was in great spirits and he was having a great time on the lake.  My sons felt bad for him but they were  having a great time on the boat and water as well.  At any rate when we first started out on the trip the weather  was calm. a little bit of over cast but nothing to bad. The Captain seem to know where to go that day. It seemed like a bit of a boat ride but he knew where he was heading. During the taping of the show I asked him where he was taking us to try and get a bit of action. He replied. I'm taking you guys out to what we call the water bubblier. It is where the water  plant has the filter where warm water gets released. Being that the tempter of the water would be harder on the fish activity, that would help.

When we got there he rigged up our rods and reels and said this should be a good spot. Bingo !  He was right. He no sooner got the words out when the fish were hitting hard. The  The winds started picking up. More overcast came in. It got a bit cooler but the action kept coming.  The guys were going nuts. Mike was pulling in fish , the boys Matt and Kyle were pulling in fish. I garbed the net. I think it was Kyle who got the first fish. Dian ( our camera operator) even got excited. It was awesome.  Every one including our captain who was controlling it all at once was racing around. After catching a few which included Trout, Browns, and silver , Coho and a few releases it was exciting from the first moment on.  After a bit it started to slow down a little.  I was hoping for a big salmon. But then Wham o !  It picked back up again. Man!  we were having a good time.   This time Mike got the first action and Kyle grabbed  the net. Then Kyle's rod started jumping and pulling. Captain Ken gave him a hand. For quite a while the excitement went on.  He pulled in a nice trout. Matt pulled in a trout. We did not catch a big salmon. But we caught enough. We were having a great time. My hat is off to Albatross fishing Charters because of that day and two other days with them not mentioned  in this article. They're  a  lot of fun, and that day was a lot of fun. Don't take my word for it.

Just check out the video on this site, where we are on the Charter boat. Enjoy it and get involved in our great outdoors. We have but one planet earth and one lifetime. Live while you can. Also if you get a chance. check out  www.albatrossfishingcharters.com
